Aurora Glade

The jungle is at war with itself.   I cannot think of how else to explain it. It is beast against beast, human against human, druid against demagogue.  Yes, the Druids join our cause.  This is a blessing within a curse, for something dark must be at work for the druids to feel the need to join any cause.

I am joined by a seasoned Ascalonian warmaster Kaden Astride.  Years of experience under his belt, though I have not had the pleasure of training under him before the world went sour.  He has done much exploring himself, and with his band of Elonian heroes I am sure of success.

The Druids meet us within the jungle and leave us jewels to attune thorny pedestals.  They remove vined doorways, and create more they say.   We follow the jungle paths as well as we can but soon enough we are lost.  We follow our foes in hopes that they will lead us to the altars, and the demigogue.

Well in to our search we hear a scream of terror.  We run towards it to find an ally being attacked, and overwhelmingly outnumbered, fighting for his life.  Less Longbow clings to his life, and we arrive in time to dispose of the dishonourable White Mantle.  He tells us of the Demagogue.  He is near, very near, and we must assassinate him should we wish to survive this jungle foray.  The difficulties will be that in order to assassinate him we must keep the gates attuned, yet fight at the same time.
Kaden  takes the first jewel to the nearest shrine.  He sends myself and his team to the next, and we are quickly overcome by hoardes of White Mantle, and they are also attempting to attune the shrines to their favour.  Kaden though is an expert of speed, as every warrior should be, and we march upon the Demagogue with a fire splattering White Mantle blood and guts on the arid ground.

We burn through the White Mantle as flame to dry parchment, but as soon as we reach the fated Demagogue, Kaden asks us to step down.  They have a score to settle personally, and one on one combat is their game.  Using the tricks he's learned through his worldly travels, the Demagogue succumbs to death and we have cleansed the Shining Blades lands.  The tides have indeed turned for them, but we are teleported not home, but to a dark mire.  The overwhelming smell of rotting wood inflicts our lungs as we press on.

In to the river we see the end of the road.  Large boulders in the celestial layout of Orion  lay in the dead end.  Upon approach, large stonelike worms spring from the ground.  Behemoths the size of giants flinging stone upon us.  One of Kadens team calls upon us great mobile hulks of dead flesh to serve as our shields and distraction while we hack at the stone exoskeletons of these terrible monsters. At last he is slain at our feet, and we are joined by Evennia, General of the Shining Blade. This is to be their new head of command, and the White Mantle is now on the run with the news of their dead Demagogue.   Their scattered, and unorganized leftovers will be picked off like fish in a powderkeg.  This is a day for Ascalon, and a day for Kryta.  Who would have thought the destruction of Ascalon and emminent destruction of Kryta would pull our kingdoms together.  If only Rurik was here to see this. He would not be surprised.  We must send word to Adelbern.  Maybe now he will give up the folly of the wall.  Maybe now he will come, and save his people from the beastly charr.  Maybe now....
