Elona Reach

Task one.  The Ghostly hero needs vision crystals.  The priest hands me a shard, 3 in all, and I am to take it to the Hero on the other side of the minotaur fields. I also must use the crystals to awaken the Ritual Priests at their arid graves. Ritual Priest Kahdat is right near the priest, and we ressurect his ghost and set off to the Hero.  He tells us how his Elonians failed in ascension, they were not the chosen and now they must live in the sands as spirits between worlds.  I must bring him the shards so that the vision crystal may give us clarity.

I head east to the first shard of the Vision Crystal.  It is heavily guarded by Grenths own forgotten serpents and skeleton assassins.  After slitting the bosses from belly to eyebrow I retrieve the crystal and make for the grave site of Ritual Priest Hehmnut.  He thanks me most graciously as his ghost reforms among the sunbleached bones and he makes his way to the Ghostly Hero.  I return, my team plowing through patrols of snakes and bones, with the Vision Shard as my prize.  We head now, to the west.

We are outnumbered right out the gate.  Fire raining from the sky and metal sparking we hack our way out of the dunes.  The wind is blowing the sand at our eyes, we shield ourselves and continue to run, feet sinking slightly every step.  We find the gravesite of Ritual Priest Nahtem, but we still do not have the Vision shard.  We continue along the wall trying to avoid patrols that have yet to notice us, and come upon the crystal.  It is heavily guarded by a flaming red elementalist general.  Serpentine, he shakes the ground at our feet and throws stone projectiles at our hearts.  The dust is thrown up around us as we duck and dodge, cast and attack, and when it finally settles all that remains is us and the crystal.  I pick it up and we return to the gravesite of Priest Nahtem, and he formulates in front of me and is as thankful as the last.  Slowly he makes his way back to the priest as well, while we clear the path for him.  The dead can die again, I have learned. They also walk very slow, but they don't exactly have anywhere to go do they?
We give the last Vision shard to the Ghostly Hero, and he and his ritual priests raise an assembled Vision Crystal.  It will put the eyes of the Six upon us, and they will bless us on our mission, which is not to just save the Ascalonians anymore.  Our mission is no longer to save Ascalon at all, or Kryta. We must now save the world we know.
Task one is complete.  On to the next.
