Thirsty River

Task two.  We run up the paths which are littered with devourers, and giants.  We must find the second Hero to complete our next task.   This task will lead to our cleansing, we must take the hero safetly to the Rune Circle at the bottom of the hill.  Sounds easy enough, but we will be passing legion after legion of serpants, each with ressurection abilities.

The Ghostly Hero throws open the gates to the first area. There are small squads of serpents and skeletons and within the keep is a great purple mesmer boss and his priest.  We dispose of the priest first, so that he could not ressurect the team, and then we annihilate the rest.  Jumping out of chaos storms and blocking sword attacks we take the Hero to the next gate, and he throws it open to area two.

Double the trouble.  Skeletons and snake elementalists come at us right in the gate.  Huge sand dunes hold up high bridges we are also attacked from.  We dispose of the first wave and move on to the keep holding a dark green Necromancer general. Priest first again, we vapourize their team.  Then we move on to the Elementalist general, and he spits stones at us and shakes the ground.  We slit his priests throat so he cannot bring the fallen back to aid them and we are ready to move to the next area.

Triple threat.  There are three keeps within, all patrolling the Rune Circle we need to cleans our souls for the Six.  There is also a non-hostile king.  King Khimaar stands by the Rune Circle, a lost soul in the sands.  The serpents make a run for him but we cut them off at the first keep and spray their blood in the sands, followed by the priest, followed by the Warrior General.  The Kings ghost remains safe, no doubt this will benefit us in the future.  We move to the  Ranger, throwing dirt in our eyes and sharp arrows at our skin.  Unfortunately it is to no avail for them, as we level the field and behead the priest.  Next is a great healing serpent with unnatural healing capabilities.  His troop is easy enough, though I must watch my own arrogance.  Next the priest goes down without so much as a word, but the Monk, he takes his time.  Having only himself to heal, he leaves himself open to attack but clears himself of much of it.  The Ghostly Hero, glowing at the prospect of us completing a second task towards ascension, comes in to the keep with us and arms his plasmatic bow and gives us the extra damage we needed to beat the wretch.
The task is done.  We are one step closer.
